Principal Piping & Layout Engineer- Oil & Gas - London
Support the Head of Piping and Layout to provide technical leadership and expertise in Piping and Plant Layout Engineering and Design and act as company specialist across projects
A fantastic opportunity to be part of one of the largest EPC firms. Operating in a number of sectors including Infrastructure, Power, Hydrocarbons & Chemical and Mining. The premier EPC has recently won a number of high profile FEED and EPC contracts internationally and are looking to expand their team while maintaining very high standards.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Provide support to and deputise for the Head of Department
Responsible for all aspects of Piping & Plant Layout Engineering and Design
Approval of technical decisions made by Piping Engineers and Designers
As required, act as a Lead Engineer to manage resources, technical input and deliverables
Ensure that Piping & Plant Layout Engineering and Design is carried out in accordance with companyprocedures and contractual requirements to the agreed budget and schedule and in compliance with Employee Health &
Safety requirements
Identify and manage design change where relevant
Co-ordination and control of engineering man-hours and costs associated with the Piping & Layout engineering component of the project or proposal
Provide leadership and expertise across the discipline in all areas of Piping &
Plant Layout Engineering and Design, including for all relevant aspects of 3D
CAD Model design, associated modules and computerised systems
Continually improve current working practice in Piping & Plant Layout
Development and maintenance of department standards, specifications and procedures
Assist in development of new employees and engineering techniques
Make a positive contribution to the development and communication within the Company.
Ensure the company delivers in a timely manner and all installations will be safe, reliable, maintainable, accessible, operable and efficient throughout its expected design life.
Candidate Requirements:
-Extensive relevant experience of upstream oil and gas facilities either onshore or offshore.
-Very strong technical knowledge
-Ability to develop engineering techniques and talent within the company.
-Extensive relevant experience, within a similar role and an ability to demonstrate and explain complex technical issues.
You will be based in Greater London with occasional international travel as required.
