Overview / Responsibilities
Wood is currently recruiting for a contractor to provide Senior Piping Design services initially for a period of 6 months based in our clients offices on Teesside.WorkscopeExecute Plant Layout and Piping discipline design and draughting activities within budget and scheduleExecute design and draughting activities ( Front End Engineering Development)Prepare Plant Layout and Piping drawings and design deliverables to the required technical quality with minimum input from engineering personnel as requiredDetailed Services to be providedAchieve safety standards as defined in personal performance contractCarry out work in accordance with company and project Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality systems.Identify scope and schedule changes in accordance with the Change Control Process.Ensure that designs comply with the relevant Standards and procedures.Provide technical assistance to discipline assigned personnel as required.Ensure, as far as is practically possible, that all assigned work is carried out in compliance with the agreed budget and schedule.Maintain good communication with the Client.Maintain discipline filing system.
Skills / Qualifications
Miniumum ONC or equivalent in appropriate engineering subject is essentialDegree/HNC or equivalent in appropriate engineering subject is desirableExperienced designer with sound technical background and strong knowledge of CAD draughting techniquesExtensive, recent experience in 2D AutoCAD is essentialConversant with codes of practice, standards and relevant sections of statutory documentation applicable to draughting functionConversant with company quality control assurance requirements applicable to draughting functionAble to create base design drawings from agreed workscopeComputer literate (spreadsheets)Able to provide draughting checking function
