Overview / Responsibilities
Basic understanding and application of; piping design principles, materials of construction, support techniques, insulation classes, equipment types, piping assemblies, (e.g. CVs, RVs, vents/ drains) and instrumentation. Capable of reading and interpreting key documents; piping standards, piping material spec including P&IDs and line lists.Familiar with and capable of using Foster Wheeler (FW) mainstream CAD systems. Confident in producing common piping deliverables to ready-for-checking stage including; isometrics, piping GAs, tie-in details and plot plans. Capable of carrying out MTO and functions of other disciplines of the Piping and Plant Layout Group when necessary and assists with the preparation of presentation material (e.g. videos, animation, plant views). Improves familiarisation and understand interdependence of various disciplines of the Piping and Plant Layout Group such as stress analysis, material logistics etc. and orientate towards developing specialisation at least in one of the disciplines.
Skills / Qualifications
4-7 years of relevant experience or equivalent.Familiar with functioning and requirements of piping and plant design group having main strength in at least one area of piping design discipline.Has worked with similar consulting companies or related industries on a project and/ has gained a solid foundation from a recognised industry on-job training course of at least two year duration. Has experience in assisting to produce common piping deliverables including; plot plans, isometrics, 3D models and other basic drawings required for an engineering projectGraduate in Mechanical Engineering (Essential)
