Steel Pipe Standardization Organizations was created by Anton
I have received an email requesting information on various codes and standards.
There is more detailed information in the "Standards" button on this site, but here is a quick list of various Steel Pipe Standardization Organizations.
AFNOR-French Norms - www.afnor.fr
ASME - American Society of Mechanical Engineers - www.asme.org/
ASTM - American Society for Testing and Materials - www.astm.org
BS-British Standards - www.bsi-global.com
SCC-Canadian Norms - www.scc.ca
DIN- German Norms - www.en.din.de/
EN - Euronorm - www.cenorm.be
GOST - Russian Norms - www.gost.ru
ISO - International Organization for Standardization - www.iso.ch
JIS - Japanese Standards - www.jsa.or.jp
NACE - The Corrosion Society - www.nace.org
SASO - Saudi Arabian Standards Organization - www.saso.org.sa
UNI- Italian Standards - www.uni.com
In general the organizations have committees with representatives from the industry, manufacturers, professional groups, users, government agencies, insurance companies etc.
The committees are responsible for maintaining, updating and reviewing the codes and revisions are published regularly.
Note! In general it is important that piping professionals stay informed with the latest revisions.

If I could add a couple more:
If the application is water, the American Water Works Association (AWWA) [specifically the AWWA C2XX series of standards and AWWA Manual M11 e.g. accessible through www.awwa.org/bookstore/Category.cfm?cat=310 .]
If this is energy (gas or oil etc.) type piping, API with standards accessible at www.api.org/Standards/ .
