Wich types of valves can be catagorized to Reduced Bore and Full Bore? I saw for Ball Valves. Is it normal for gate, globe, check, buterfly valve too?

Ball Valves - May be full port or reduced port and may be pigged in either form depending on the type of Pig

Butterfly Valve - Normally considered only full port but do have restricted flow due to the disc

Check Valves - Not normally considered in the discussion of full/reduced port configuration. All Check valves have some sort of flow restriction due to the mechanics of their various designs.

Gate Valves - May be full port or reduced port and may be pigged in either form depending on the type of Pig

Globe Valves - Not normally considered in the discussion of full/reduced port configuration. All Globe valves have a flow restriction due to the configuration of their design.

Orbit Valves - Normally considered reduced port, not recommended when pigging is required

Plug Valves - Normally considered reduced port, not recommended when pigging is required

I have a P&ID that shows a spec break at the control valve. The control valve is 150# CS and it is connecting to a 300# Inconel spec. In my short piping experience, I always see the control valve to be the higher rating. Any suggestion on how to make this work without changing the CV because it has already been purchased.

arohi,
Your question has nothing to do with the original post here about Full Bore and Reduced Bore.

You should remove your question here and start your own post. It would be better to post it on the Technical Forum.
You should also give more information about the total situation:
- what is the origin of the up-stream line?
- what is the destination of the down stream line?
- what is the purpose of this line?
- what is the material of both lines?
- what is the operating conditions (pressure and temperature) of both lines?

Actually check valves can be bought in full port configurations. Not sure or don't believe me? Do a quick googl and see how many results from manufactures you get back.

As far as Gates are concerned, There are full port and "standard" port.

Check Valves - Not normally considered in the discussion of full/reduced port configuration. All Check valves have some sort of flow restriction due to the mechanics of their various designs.

Gate Valves - May be full port or reduced port and may be pigged in either form depending on the type of Pig
