Pipe ends selection was created by Sachin
For CS pipe ( 4”) we take ERW but for killed CS we take seamless one . Other conditions being the same.
Service is atmospheric vent.
Pl. tell about discrepancy.

Small Fit MOC : CS A 105 ( 1.5" & < )

Pipe ( 4" ) : A 53 - B-E , ERW , Std Wt , BBE



In other :

Manufacturing method of pipe differs in two cases. Why ?

I had asked this question sometime ago to a material engineer and this was what I was told:
A-106 B seamless pipe deoxidixed with addition at least 0.10%Silicon & A-53 B (seamless or welded pipe); deoxidized, partially deoxidized or nondeoxidized - since the strong deoxidizing elements, silicon and/or aluminum, are not controlled. The term "killed" originally referred to the appearance of the molten steel. Non deoxidized molten steels appear to boil and bubble (or act lively) as oxygen chemically reacts with the molten steel while the highly deoxidized steels appear still and quiet or "killed".
