Morning!

Pls find attached article regarding Pump Suction Strainer Isuues, published in hydrocarbon processing magazine.

Comments from exeprienced pipers/ equiment specialists; on the recommended suggestions for strainers (as in topic); are highly appreciated.
To Anton,

Could u pls allow uploading pdf files; as they are restricted and the only way I have; is to zip and attach.

Cheers

Hi Aubajwa,

Thanks for the article.

Unfortunately, the software used on the board doesn't allow PDFs to be posted, so the only way to do it, is as you have done.

Hopefully future releases of the board software will allow PDFs to be posted.

Anton

Morning!

I have gone through this topic and could not understand:

a) why author wants y-type strainers to be restricted to 2in max size.

Thanks

Why does the author wants y-type strainers to be restricted to 2in max size?

I do not know the answer to this question. I do know two things.
1. The Author of the article is a very knowledgeable and well respected authority on the subject of pumps.
2. I have designed many, many pump systems with "Y" type strainers that were larger (3", 4", 6", 8", 10" ) and we never had a problem..
