New Forums must be Added was created by jojeng2002
I suggest Anton to have new Forums like Pipe Routing (all about pipe routing questions to be asked here) and Piping Standards (all about standards of various oil & gas companies to be asked here). Technical Forum is very broad and complicated.

Just my opinion but I think the "Technical Forum" has that covered.

James,

Agreed, otherwise there would be forums for tees, elbows, flanges etc ....

Although those new forums were already covered in the Technical Forum section, many members find it hard including myself to browse due to very vast & very broad topic of the Technical Forum. I strongly suggest to divide that section to several forums!

There is a search button towards the top right hand side of the screen (just above the current date), to help you find things quickly.

Clicking here and entering a search term, such as "routing" will provide you with a list of all topics on the forum containing that search phrase.

There's a valid point that Jojeng is making. There will be different types of forum-ers who'll visit and behave differently on this forum:
1. There'll be people who will come searching for an answer or help. They should put search facility to best use so as to avoid double / cross posting on the forum.
2. Then there are experienced ones like JOP and 11echo who share their vast experience.
3. Yet there will be another category which will keep just reading the posts one by one. They'll feel better if the forum is arranged in the manner in which Jojeng suggested.

Yet when I tried visualize, any specific sub-categories, I could think of none. I think most of the broad categories are covered like Technical, Materials, Stress and Valves etc. Since there are sizable posts in technical forum, they could be divided into sub-sections. One such example is on another forum pdmsworld.com where Design forum has many sub-forums.

Maybe: 1. Inter-disciplinary (Queries regarding other depts. such as Civil, Instrumentation)
2. Documentation (Listings, formats etc.)
3. Layout
4. Installation and Erection
So that the experts in a specific area can go to the topic of their likes.
