Going from PDS to PDMS was created by whichwayisup
I am experienced in the use of PDS as a piping tool, but am currently thinking of looking out for PDMS work, as there are a lot of PDMS jobs here at the moment.

Are there are any people out there who can use both systems?
Can you tell me if it is difficult to switch from one system to another?

Do I need to do a full on PDMS course, or would my PDS ability stand to me if I managed to get some light in house PDMS training?

I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW ABOUT THE TRAINING FOR THE ABOVE SUBJECT SOFTWARE CONDUCTED BY YOU OR ANY CONSULTANT AGENCY.
ALSO HOW THE CAESAR SOFTWARE RELATE WITH OTHER PIPING ANALYSIS SOFTWARE AND DO YOU HAVE AN INFORMATION ABOUT ANY SUCH TRAINING AGENCY CONDUCTING THE ABOVE LISTED COURSES.

I've been exposed to both systems, here's my opinion on the out-of-the-box functionality.

It's easier going from PDS to PDMS than the reverse. PDMS's user interface is far superior and intuitive.

Course you can customize these programs to make many tasks easier for the users.

3D concepts are 3D concepts and can be applied with the different plant design programs. However, to fully understand the software, take the course. If you have knowledge of another 3D platform you might find yourself ahead in the class.

If it is still of interest I have just completed the PDMS course after using PDS for years.

The course was held at Aveva's office in Sandnes (Stavanger) Norway and for me and one other it was done in English, it cost 12,000 nok.

There is a different logic to PDMS then PDS but it is easy to get your head around it.

After doing the course I have managed to get work in Stavanger using PDMS....
