Right now we are working on a project where we have lots of plastic piping & as per the theory ideally we should have continous supporting for Plastic pipes.
can anybody share there experience/knowledge of supporting plastic piping systems.

Right now we are thinking of trays to support these plastic pipes.
Something really different from normal (metal) piping system....!

Years ago I worked on a project with the same problem. We solved it in the same manner (continuous tray support).
You should make sure that you have lots of drain holes in the tray material.

I don't have enough experience when it comes to Plastic Pipes.
Normally, we consider the weight of the fluid to determine the support span which is
half the support span for ferrous pipes. Clamps and U-bolts are used for this.

This is what we did in our project.

Tray would work well on small diameter pipe, but on large stuff I've used channel and I-beam with the pipe banded to these steel members between supports, although most of this was in a retro-fit design.

Continous support to the plastic pipe is what we need to meet to safeguard it...! Tray/Angle/Channels...others....is fine as long as we meet the continous line contact for supporting..!

Thnx
