Yesterday, I got an email from a well known, Dublin based, recruitment agency (and I'm finding it really hard not to name them!), regarding jobs in Cork.

Apparently they are looking for 40 PDS guys for long term jobs!

Fantastic!

But in the email, they mention rates ....

€40 p/hour if you are from Ireland, and €45 p/hour if you are from the UK!!

That's a difference of €10,000 per year, because of where you are from!
I'd like to see what the commision for fairness and equality have to say on the subject!

Now while I've nothing against guys from the UK coming over here for work, but I have a problem when they are getting preferential rates!

This is supposed to cover the fact that they have to travel from the UK and get accom in Cork ...

So tell me:

Do us pipers from Dublin (and anywhere outside Cork) get free lodgings in Cork?

Do we get free travel to/from Cork?

In this age of low cost air travel, it's as cheap to fly London-Cork as it is Dublin-Cork ... never mind the cost of petrol if you were to drive.

A LITTLE BIT OF FAIRNESS IS ALL WE ASK!!!!

I'm very f*#king angry!!
