I have a question regarding the wall thickness calculation and the hydrotest calculation.

We all know that wall thickness is directly proportional to the design pressure, so how come the pipe does not brust when we do the hydrotest as for the hydrotest calculation we use 1. 5 times(min.) the design pressure and it is directly proportional to the test pressure.
