Hello All,
In a project we have a 2″ N2 connection for purging 30″ and 40″ pipes carrying NG.

P&ID shows a 1″ bleed valve (It is not mentioned as either drain or vent) between Check Valve and Gate Valve in this N2 Purge Connection.

I would like to know what is the best orientation for this 1″ bleed and Why?

Should it come from Side/Bottom/Top of the Pipe?
