i am confused by the spec blind.
this is a horizontal flash separator package. there are 3 spec blinds on gas in , gas out and emulsion out lines respectly right after the nozzles. they all shows on open position on p&id. i wonder what is the function to put spec blinds here, when they willl be changed to closed position and how? what if we don’t use these spec blinds?

I talked to my supervisor, he said they are used for test. can anybody explain me more?
