I’ve got a heavy wall 2.75″ exchanger. 14 connections that are welded (16″ to 24″) no flanges except the water. They are replacing the exchanger in kind. I want to cut at the welds of two 90’s one at the exchanger and and one at the next ell. Remove the spool (which is Up, North and down. Remove and install new exchanger and re-install back the spool I just removed. Question, How much material will I lose from the cut & bevel, if any? This is critical. I could make two cuts on the run and remove a foot and then re-fabricate to the right dim. That’s 8 cuts, preps, bevels and welds. Or If i can fill the gap from the loss of material at the 90’s that would be 4 cut’s, prep’s, bevel’s & weld’s. . Let me know what you all think. Also, it most likely will be a cold cut.

    Thanks
