I need to run a 6″ 150# steam line into the underwater portion of a dirty water sump in order to install a steam sparger system. The concern is that a typical penetration with a puddle flange won’t work because of the thermal movement of the hot pipe. I’ve thought of an oversized flange penetration embedded in the wall with the steam line running through the larger embed and havig a mating flange on the outside of the tank to mount the steam line to the oversized penetration. Something along the lines of a bayonet heater into the side of a tank. I’m not sure I’ve explained this clearly enough but if any one has any ideas or details, I would appreciate the help.
