The software cannot be downloaded legally or purchased via the Internet not even at AVEVA’s website. Anyone wanting to purchase or evaluate the software must contact their AVEVA Sales Office in their region. I have pulled some of the information directly from AVEVA’s site for those international members of this forum so they can easily get in touch with AVEVA.

We all know that AVEVA’s price structure varies from “list price” to “a negotiated rate” depending on volume, committment, etc. Each firm handles that aspect.
The software would be very very diffucult to just install, read the manuals and then learn. There is alot of things “not” in the manual. The manual provides hints, suggestions and examples but not step-by-step. If you are/can be in the USA, then there are several certified training solutions. Contact me directly for some solutions. Overseas, you should look at Aveva’s Offices.
As for pipingguy’s statement that AutoCAD/Microstation will win out is a little optimistic. PDS/PDMS/SmartPlant are what all major firms are using or going to. Smaller Firms are using REBIS/CADWORX and a few are using Plant4D. Yes, these smaller packages use AutoCAD/Microstation but they also cannot produce the performance. You need the right tool for the right project. Some require heavy weight like PDMS and some require standard weight like REBIS. Most firms have several different solutions in-house.
