Usually, the centerline of the cylinder is parallel to the center line of the valve. One of the reasons is this configuration saves space and looks neat, nothing protruding from the pipe and blocking walkways, etc…
Is it acceptable to install the actuator with its center line perpendicular to the valve center line ? Can I rotate it 90 degree ? Appreciate the forum member opinions.
The picture below shows how it usually done.
