This is another ESDV I am working on. It’s 14″ 300#, and once in a while, HCl acid will be used to clean the system.
The piping is CS with some corrosion allowance at one end, the other end is GRE (funny huh).
I am thinking of a CS valve body, wetted parts are cladded with acid resistance materials. Metal seats are normally specified for ESDV in my company and most of the are carbide tungsten coated stainless steels. I am not sure if this is a good choice for my valve as I could not find reference to carbide tungsten acid resistance properties. One of the option could be bare SS 316 for ball and something for the seats to avoid galling.
