Hello all,
I am an oil and gas engineering recruiter and piping designers is one of the skills I recruit for my clients. I am interested in becoming a piping designer myself soon, I am currently enrolled in my first to drafting and autocad classes, I should get my 18 hour certification by the end of 2009. Does anyone know if it’s possible to get a head start with an engineering firm as an apprentice or some very basic entry level drafter while I complete these courses? I have looked on the job boards and all the job postings require at least 2 years of experience, please let me know if anyone has any advice on how to break into this field, thanks.
