I was taught coming up as a piping designer that drawings were to show a hatched end symbol for pipe, also I had become quite used to seeing vendor dwgs showing the same. Last week I was told that is incorrect and is only to be used for a solid shaft and our Company X standard is just the end symbol with no hatch.
Every bit of information I have and have looked up shows a hatched end symbol. Now I’m more than willing to let go of what I’ve seen and what I was taught for a company standard but could any of you shed any light on what is the accepted industry standard?
Maybe I’m completely wrong and that’s fine it’s happened before, twice, today!
