Let’s list down the fire prone equipments/facilities we come across normally when we are dealing with the process plant layout.

Fire prone equipments/facilities are either the source of ignition or they are the sources to catch fire. Extreme care need to be taken while locating these items in the plant. Most importantly we need to ensure that we have enough separation distances in between the other facilities in the plant. Also, it is important to consider the prevailing wind direction when locating the fired equipment.

Here are the equipment/facility I know,
    -Furnace
    -Heater
    -Electrical Substation
    -Incinerator
    -Burn pits
    -Elevated or ground flares
    -Gas turbines
    -Electric power generators
    -Boiler
-Vehicles on the roads in the plant also are possible source of ignition.

There must be more equipment/facilities to get added in the above list.

Also there are many other ways while locating any equipment

Experienced pipers out here must be knowing more about these things ….can we just discuss & put more light on this matter?
