I received an email today from a piper wondering how he can get a piping job when he has limited PDMS experience.
This appears to be coming up quite a bit these days.
Hi,
Is there any encouraging news for non-PDMS designers?
I am an experienced Piper HNC Mech Eng. and formally trained in both PDS and PDMS but, without the required recent working experience in PDMS, have found it impossible to secure a contract.
Taking a further course could be a rash decision bearing in mind WORKING experience is what is required.I have a mainly onshore, mid and downstream with some offshore experience, immediately available at any reasonable rate and am prepared to work anywhere in Europe.
I have proposed a PDMS refresher course at my expense and a reduced rate until I get up to speed, but so far – no interest
I would appreciate your comments.
Kind regards,
xxxxx xxxxxx
