Hi everyone,
I am working on a cooling water system and need some help with pipe sizing. The system has a pump with a flow rate of 500 GPM and I need to determine the best pipe size for optimal flow and minimal pressure drop. The system consists of several bends and elbows, so I am also concerned about the impact of fittings on the pressure loss.
What factors should I consider when selecting the pipe size. Are there any general guidelines or formulas to follow for calculating the pressure drop through the system. I do not appreciate any advice or resources you could recommend to make sure the system runs efficiently.
I also read this https://www.engineeringtoolbox.com/cooling-water-piping-systems-d_blue-prismtopic I could not find anything helpful.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Best regards,
[Nancy]
