The people in my office have been going around and around on this topic, so I thought I would ask the experts.

Two scenarios: A 30″ pipe is reducing to a 20″ pipe, according to the pipe spec, the 30″ pipe is SCH XS and the 20″ is SCH STD, is the reducer SCH XS or SCH STD?

A 4″ pipe is reducing to a 2″ pipe. The 4″ is SCH STD and the 2″ is SCH80. Is the Reducer SCH STD or SCH80?

Thank you for any and all help.
