This is a question that has been bounced around several times … but lately, it seems that software selection for piping design is slowly but surely being pried from the pipers grip.
There’s a new sheriff in town, and he’s a BIM guy, he want’s to see everything in Revit.
So where does this leave piping?
I have yet to see anything piping related in Revit, that will handle the complexity of process piping material specifications, line numbering etc., not to mention dump out a fabricatable, constructable Piping Isometric.
Does anyone have any thoughts on using “Traditional” CAD based piping software in a BIM / Revit environment??
