    I am agree with Jop, only Fluor have a software with the things cited this is called “Material Manager”

    The difference is the content of carbon , “L” denotes Low Carbon percentage and this is used to avoid the precipitacion of carbides that would cause fragility in the weld . Actually the most of manufacturers provide doble marked pipe 316/316L for acomplishment to both requirements.
