If anyone would like to add to this post, I will collect and "package" it into a permanent article on the training page.

Engineering Philosophy:-
In many cases, the Licensor and the Client have vast experience of handling plants which gives them good insight. The engineering philosophy covers many aspects (the lessons learned) which act as guiding principles during the detailing phase.

Dear shrivallabha ,
With your reply on the topic one more important thing which is coming in my mind & would really like to share is as below....
In many cases, Client who have vast experience of handling their plants (like SHELL, BASF, TOTAL, NOVARTIS, SUNCORE, EXXON, BP, IOCL, HPCL) which gives them good insight of how the things should be & how thay should not be...! Sometimes clients also come with the basic (tentative) PLOT PLAN & Equipment Layouts to the engineering company to start with the detail design.
These INPUTS really helps pipers to do detail design & to understand client's requirement in a better fashion...!
