Long time i haven't posted any query so today i am shooting one to all Talented piping engineers.
Do we open clean drain system ( drains to all main steam pipes) during the main steam pipes steam blow out ?
also we use Orifice in these drain pipes before it drains to single header.
so do i need to remove these orifice while steam blow out to avoid clogging and all?

The first thing to remember is that an Orifice plate is a machined article and should not be subjected to any rubbish passing through it during flushing whether it is by water or a steam blow down. They should be removed and safely stored before refitting after all cleaning is carried out.
Why do you fit expensive orifice plates to drain lines fitting a reducer would serve the same purpose and a much lower cost, the flanges are more expensive because of the pressure taps in them.
Spectacle Blinds are a different animal as they are just full bore and be open while flushing.
