Replied by banerj1s on topic You need a main monitoring
You need a main monitoring station at the main supply tie in and individual monitoring stations at each delivery station. The monitoring station is guided by NFPA codes and has to be located at a definite distnce from the building, fenced(if it is a trunk line) and possibly with a fire protection system depending upon the flow rate and hazardous area classification.
NG lines may be underground or overground. Most cases they are underground to reduce interference with the public utilities.
The depth the pipe may be embedded is dictated by the maximum weight of traffic above and soil pressure.
For 2" to 6" pipes in my opinion pigging should not be required.
However lots of question remains unanswered in ur query. Is it a depressurised or pressurized. If it is a depressurized the temperature may go down below 20 deg C. You may need low temperature carbon steel pipes or carbon steel pipes should suffice.
