Hi

Will the gaskets used in class 150 & 300 flanges have the same OD & width?

Replied by Anton on topic The gasket ODs will vary,
The gasket ODs will vary, based on a number of factors, including flange rating, and gasket type.

Pipe flange gaskets are used to provide a leak tight seal between two flange faces.

Gaskets are generally available in the following three flange face types:

1) Full Face Gasket - Covers the full face or area of the flange.
2) Flat Ring Gasket - Covers only the sealing area or raised face of the flange.
3) Metallic Ring Gasket - Designed to fit between the U-shaped machined grooves of ring type flanges.

I.D. & O.D. Gasket Diameters:

1) I.D. of full & flat ring gaskets = O.D. of pipe.
2) I.D. of large male & female gaskets = O.D. of pipe.
3) O.D. of full face gaskets = O.D. of flange.
4) O.D. of flat ring gaskets = Diameter of inside edge of flange bolt holes.
5) O.D. of large male & female gaskets = O.D. of male flange face.

I.D. & O.D. of gaskets for other flange faces should equal the flange seals surface.
