Spool Maximum Dimensions. was created by still learning
Hi,
Can anyone detail the restrictions on spool sizes?
I did have a link to this information but seem to have lost it somehow.
Regards.

Do it once and Do it Right
Replied by Jop on topic Which definition of "spool piece"
Which definition of "spool piece" are you looking for?
1. That little short piece of pipe (Spool) between two fittings (also called a "Pup" piece)?
or
2. The very large shop fabricated pipe (Spool) configuration to be shipped?
If it is definition #1 then you can go to the boxed area above where you see FAQ, Search, Memberlist, etc. Choose "Search" and then type in "Pup". You will get 6 responses. Read all of them and then if you still have questions please feel free to ask.
If it is definition #2 then consider the following:
For Truck shipping use = 8' x 8' x 40'-0"
For Rail shipping use = 10' x10' x 40'-0"
For Barge shipping use = 10' x10' x 60'-0"

Jop,
If it is definition #2 then also consider the weight and C.G. of the spool, due to the capacity of the crane to be use.
