Using the site
By using the site, you agree to these terms and to use it lawfully. You must be at least 16. If you create an account, keep your login details confidential and provide information that is accurate and current.
- Do not impersonate another person, create misleading accounts or access another account.
- Do not upload malware or content that is unlawful, defamatory, threatening, discriminatory, invasive of privacy, infringing or intended to deceive.
- Do not spam, scrape, overload, probe, bypass security or interfere with the site, forum or other users.
- Do not use the site to give or obtain professional engineering services while presenting our content or tools as a substitute for competent engineering review.
Forum and user content
You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, reproduce, format, moderate, display and make that content available as part of the site and its archive, for as long as reasonably needed to operate and preserve the forum. This licence ends for new uses when you delete content or your account, except where content has been quoted, incorporated into a thread, anonymised or must be retained for legal or security reasons.
You are responsible for your content and must have the rights and permissions needed to post it. Do not post confidential information, personal data about others without a proper basis, or material you are not entitled to share. Forum posts may be retained in anonymised form to keep threads coherent.
Moderation and accounts
We may review, edit, hide or remove content; limit posting; or suspend or terminate an account where we reasonably consider this necessary to enforce these terms, protect users, address legal risk or maintain the forum. We do not promise to monitor everything or to preserve every post. We may also act on a valid legal request or report.
You may ask us to close your account by emailing info@pipingdesigners.com. Account closure does not automatically remove posts where retaining or anonymising them is necessary to keep forum threads intact.
Intellectual property
Unless stated otherwise, the site’s structure, branding, original text, graphics and software belong to us or our licensors. You may use the site for personal or internal business reference, but must not copy, republish, sell, frame or systematically extract it without permission. Third-party names and materials remain with their owners.
Links and third-party services
Links to other sites are provided for convenience. We do not control or endorse their content, security, availability or privacy practices. Your use of them is subject to their terms.
Disclaimer and limits of liability
The site is provided on an “as available” basis. Content and calculators are general information, not professional advice, and may contain errors or omissions. Read the Disclaimer before relying on engineering material.
To the fullest extent permitted by Irish law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, loss of data, business or profit, or loss arising from reliance on user content, third-party sites or the availability of the site. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our act or omission, for fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded or limited under Irish or EU law, or your statutory rights as a consumer.
Governing law and changes
These terms are governed by Irish law. The Irish courts have jurisdiction, subject to any mandatory rights you have under applicable law.
We may update these terms by publishing a new version with a new date. Continued use after an update means you accept the updated terms. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply.
