Do not rely on an unverified result

Calculator outputs, explanations, figures, code references and forum posts may be incomplete, out of date, based on assumptions or wrong. Results may depend on inputs, units, material data, design conditions, software implementation and the applicable edition of a code. A result is not a design approval, calculation certificate, safety assessment or professional engineering advice.

Every engineering output must be independently checked and verified by a competent, suitably qualified engineer before it is used, issued, fabricated, installed, operated or relied on. The engineer must check the inputs, assumptions, units, formulae, results and applicable laws, standards and project requirements, including applicable codes such as ASME B31.3 where relevant.
