Your analytics choice
The cookie pd_analytics_consent remembers whether you accepted or rejected analytics cookies. It lasts 6 months (182 days). It is not an analytics cookie. It is set when you choose on the banner. You can change the choice at any time from Cookie settings in the footer of pipingdesigners.com and of jobs.pipingdesigners.com. When it expires after 6 months, the banner asks for your choice again.
Two short-lived cookies, pd_an_signup and pd_an_forum, may be set for 10 minutes after you register or after you post in the forum. They contain no name, email, title, or message. The page deletes them as soon as it reads them. They are not advertising cookies.
Google Analytics 4
If you accept, both sites load Google Analytics 4, provided by Google Ireland Ltd. The measurement ID is G-YM85CFGG0B. Google then sets _ga and _ga_YM85CFGG0B. We use them to see which pages are used. The tag does not receive your name, your email address, or an account identifier.
Google’s default lifetime for these cookies is up to 2 years. On these sites the tag sets them for 6 months (182 days). They are set only after you accept. If you reject, Google’s tag is not loaded and these cookies are not set.
Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. Consent Mode starts with analytics storage and advertising storage denied. Accept grants analytics storage only. Advertising storage stays denied.
Google may process this data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. The transfer safeguards in the Privacy Policy apply.
What we do not use
No advertising cookies are used.
Forum profile pictures
Forum pages show members’ profile pictures from Gravatar (Automattic Inc., USA). Gravatar receives your IP address when a picture loads. See the Privacy Policy.
Managing cookies
Use Cookie settings in the footer to accept or reject analytics cookies. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser. Blocking essential cookies can stop sign-in, forum posting, job posting, job alerts, or security checks from working. Browser controls do not by themselves change a choice already stored in pd_analytics_consent, so use Cookie settings as well.
