Hi ,
Why is the control valve in a line one size less than the lie size?Does it have any technical reason behind it or just fr the sake of being econmical?
2)Generally why are flanges of control valve upto 8"(size may vary acc to spec) of higher rating if the line rating is 150# ?

This question has been asked before.
Please use the "Search" located in the upper right just under the "Standards" and "Forum" buttons.

In the key words box type in "Control valve vs Line size" and then enter.

There will be a number of references to these key words. Read then all but look for the one that is titled "A small question"
