What this tool does
This datasheet looks up forged socket-weld and threaded fittings: elbows, tees, crosses, street elbows, couplings, half-couplings, caps and unions. It also covers weld, socket-weld and threaded branch outlets.
When to use it
Use it for small-bore layout, vent and drain details, and checking take-outs on small-bore isometrics.
Inputs
- Fitting type.
- Size and pressure class.
- End: socket weld or threaded.
- Units: inches or millimetres.
How it works
Fitting figures come from the Bonney Forge fittings catalog, and outlets from its branch catalog. A second catalog cross-checks class 3000 threaded fittings. Where they differ, the card keeps the Bonney figure and says so.
Understanding the result
Each lettered dimension shows as a card. Single-source figures are labelled.
Engineering considerations
- Socket-weld joints need a gap at the bottom of the socket. Allow for it in cut lengths.
- NPS 8 and larger weld outlets are ordered for a specific run size.
Example
NPS 1/2 class 3000 socket-weld 90° elbow: A is 1 1/8 in.
Standards/references (licensed vs interim)
Licence status is interim. The numbers come from Bonney Forge catalogs, not from licensed ASME B16.11 text. The page builds its source note from the dataset and names the standard to verify against. Always check the current edition of ASME B16.11, or the manufacturer’s certified drawing, before you use a figure on a deliverable. Outlets also name MSS SP-97.
Limitations/disclaimer
- No elbow or lateral outlets, laterals, reducing couplings, plugs, bushings or lug-nut unions.
- The result is preliminary and needs engineering review.
